Nigella, also known as Love-in-a-Mist, is a whimsical favorite in our field for its delicate blooms, airy foliage, and magical seed pods. It adds a romantic, ethereal feel to market bouquets and keeps on giving even after bloom — the pods are just as beautiful as the flowers themselves.

  • Germination:

    10-14 days

Direct seed (recommended) – Sow every 2–3 weeks, 3–4 times early in the season, for continuous blooms and pods. In mild-winter areas, fall sowing is also successful.

Transplant – Start seeds 4–6 weeks before planting out. Cover lightly, as light aids germination. Handle carefully—plants dislike root disturbance.

    Growing Conditions:

    Grows best in full sun.

    Spacing:

    Plant starts 2-9 inches apart.
