Cattle & Cut Flowers Dahlia Policies

Thank you for supporting our farm and small business. Below, you will find our complete policies for ordering, shipping, cancellations, and more. These policies are in place to ensure smooth transactions and clear communication.

​​​Order Placement & Customer Notifications

  • Customer Responsibility: Customers are responsible for ensuring all information is accurate. This includes your shipping address, contact details, and ordered items. Errors in your information could delay shipping or result in packages being sent to the wrong address. 

  • Sale Notifications: Make sure you subscribe to our website, so you can be notified of when the sale starts – and future sales. Once you fill out the subscribe form at the bottom of our website, you will need to verify your email to complete your notification setup.

  • Cart Items Not Held: Items in your cart are not held. If you do not complete checkout and receive a confirmation email, your order has not been placed.

Products We Offer

  • Dahlia Tubers: Sold individually, not in clumps, and priced per tuber unless otherwise specified.

  • Rooted Cuttings: When available, rooted cuttings are only available locally. Please follow all care instructions upon receipt.

Order Changes & Cancellations
  • Order Changes: We cannot accommodate changes to existing orders. This includes swapping varieties, adding items, or altering quantities. Too many variables can lead to errors, so once an order is placed, it is final.

  • Combining Orders: We cannot accommodate combining orders due to the volume of order we receive and the complications in shipping costs. 

  • Cancellations: Cancellations are only allowed in extreme circumstances and are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Please contact us with your reason for canceling, and we will review your request.

    • Examples of acceptable reasons: loss of home, severe illness (proof required).

    • Examples of unacceptable reasons: overspending or changing your mind.

Shipping Policies
  • Shipping Responsibility: Customers are responsible for shipping fees, which must be paid prior to shipment. Once we hand off your package to the carrier, we cannot be held responsible for delays, damage, or lost items. Please file claims directly with the carrier if these issues arise.

  • Tracking Information: Tracking details will be sent via email. Ensure your email address is accurate when placing your order. If no email is provided, we cannot send tracking updates.

  • Lost or Stolen Packages: If your package is marked as delivered but cannot be located, check with family members, neighbors, or others who may have received it. We are not liable for stolen or misplaced packages.

  • Weather Considerations: Please monitor your local weather before placing an order. We are not responsible for damage caused by extreme heat or freezing temperatures during transit. We are not liable for any packages that freeze in transit or are left out overnight. We do our best to ship when the fear of frost has passed in our zone.

Receiving Your Order
  • Inspect Upon Arrival: You must inspect their order within 48 hours of delivery. Notify us immediately if there are any issues. Include photos and videos of the product and packaging to help us address your concerns.

  • Dahlia Tubers: All tubers are guaranteed to ship healthy and viable. If a tuber arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery, with photos or videos.

 Note: Some tubers are coming out of cold storage and will not have sprouts when you receive them. We put a lot of care into diving our tubers, and ensure each one sent out has at least one viable eye. Please give them time before assuming they are not viable.

Refunds, Replacements, & Returns
  • Refunds: Refunds are issued at our discretion. We will first attempt to replace the item if stock allows. Customers must return tubers at their expense to receive any refund.

  • Replacements: Customers must give us the opportunity to replace a product before requesting a refund. Return shipping costs for defective items are the customer’s responsibility.

  • Unforeseen Issues: If a product becomes unavailable due to storage failures or other unforeseen events, we will issue a full refund for that item or offer replacement that is the closest match.

  • Wrong Varieties: If a plant blooms incorrectly (e.g., not the variety ordered), please send us photos along with your order details. We will work with you to correct the issue in the following season.

What to Expect from Our Tubers
  • Tubers may vary in size, shape, and appearance but are guaranteed to contain the DNA of the variety purchased.

  • Small or irregularly shaped tubers often grow just as vigorously as larger ones.

  • Minor blemishes, peeling skin, or bent necks do not typically affect a tuber’s viability.

Virus & Disease Policy
  • We thoroughly inspect all plants for signs of viruses or diseases. While we do not conduct lab testing on all our plants due to the high cost, we take every precaution to provide healthy stock. 

  • If you suspect a plant has a virus, please contact us with photos and details. We will work with you to determine the cause and a resolution.

 Note: Viruses can be introduced by pests or other environmental factors after leaving our farm

Code of Conduct
  • We expect all communication to be respectful and professional. Rudeness, profanity, or threats will not be tolerated.

  • Negative reviews or social media posts made without giving us the opportunity to resolve an issue may result in the customer being added to a "Do Not Sell" list shared among the dahlia selling community.
